We celebrated 25 years of the ActionSpace studio at Studio Voltaire for Open House 2024

The ActionSpace studio at Studio Voltaire turned 25! To celebrate, we presented for the first time an exhibition of work by nearly fifty current and past artists who have worked out of the studio. Artists included:
Adrian King, Alex Ramey, Babajide Brian, Chandrakant Patel, Charlotte Maclean, Claudette Smith, Claudia Williams, Connie Moth-Price, David Byrne, Derek Williams, Donald Fasanya, Emily Battersby, Evelyn Obiri-Mensah, Gary Dalton, George Blankson, Graham Lewis, Ian Hiscuit, Ibrahim Keelson, Immanuel Adelowo, James Heath, John Saunders, Joyce Charlton, Kieron Hanlon, Kwaga Sillingi, Lasmin Salmon, Linda Bell, Mark Lawrence, Mary Ogunleye, Michael Sporik, Nigel Kingsbury, Nnena Kalu, Nicky Harris, Pardip Kapil, Peter Furtado, Rachel King, Robin Smith, Roland Young, Selina Assan-Sackey, Umbreen Ashique, Victor Bryant, Walter Woods, Wayne McGregor and Yavuz Akapinar.
The two day event showcased a mix of current and retrospective original artworks from our archives, a screening of footage from past studio events and exhibitions, along with the opportunity to hear from Charlotte Hollinshead, Head of Artist Development, about the history of the ActionSpace studio at Studio Voltaire.

Pardip Kapil invites you into his Father Christmas disco installation. Join Pardip and the ActionSpace team on the studio dance floor!

Saturday 9 November, 10 am – 5 pm
Charlotte Hollinshead, Head of Artist Development, leads a relaxed talk and screening on the history of the ActionSpace studio at Studio Voltaire, 11 am – 12 pm
Robin Smith and James Heath will Paint Live in the ActionSpace studio, 1 – 4 pm
Pardip Kapil will reactivate his multi layered disco installation, 1 – 4 pm
Explore Nnena Kalu’s open studio. This is a unique opportunity to visit Nnena working onsite, 10 am – 5 pm
Babajide Brian’s LOEWE FOUNDATION / Studio Voltaire Award open studio, 10 am – 5 pm
