Thompson Hall: Colour Is My Signature monograph

We are pleased to announce the release the first monograph of ActionSpace artist Thompson Hall’s artwork, Colour Is My Signature. Published by Autograph and produced in partnership with ActionSpace, the book traces pivotal works stretching across Thompson’s artistic career. Through graphic abstracted symbols and striking text, Thompson explores the inequality of society and the world around him regarding politics, social change, racism and the impact these all have on our society. Along with an introduction by ActionSpace’s Artistic Director & CEO, Sheryll Catto, the publication features a transcript of an in conversation between Autograph’s Director, Dr Mark Sealy and Thompson Hall and a newly commissioned text by curator Linsey Young, providing a contemporary context for the work.

Colour Is My Signature foregrounds work produced by Thompson since 2016 and is an outcome of the UK-wide Explorers project, highlighting the extraordinary contribution neurodiverse people make to art and culture.

Thompson was Autograph’s first Artist-In-Residence in 2022 and his work was shown on the side of Autograph’s building in a display titled Inequality, Marginalisation and Social Change.
