We are delighted to announce that Nnena Kalu has been awarded a Mark Tanner Sculpture grant.

Nnena will receive a one-off £4,000 grant following this years shortlisted interviews for the Mark Tanner Sculpture Award (MTSA). The panel, including artist Eva Rothschild and curator Lewis Gilbert, identified that Nnena would benefit from additional time in her ActionSpace studio to develop her sculptural practice and that this grant would have a beneficial impact on Nnena’s sculptural practice and future development.

The grant will be used to support Nnena Kalu’s Loewe Foundation/ Studio Voltaire award and enable ActionSpace to support Nnena in her own studio as she further develops and expands her practice.

The Mark Tanner Sculpture Award aims to identify and support outstanding and innovative practice in the field of sculpture.

Nnena was shortlisted for the Mark Tanner Sculpture Award in 2021.
