We are delighted to announce that ActionSpace artist Nnena Kalu has been shortlisted for the Mark Tanner Sculpture Award 2021/22. Nnena is one of eight contemporary, emerging artists to be nominated for the prestigious award. The winner is awarded £8,000, to support towards the production of new work, a solo exhibition at Standpoint Gallery, plus a National Touring Programme.
The shortlisted artists are Ingrid Berthon-Moine, Benjamin Cohen, Katrina Cowling, Rosie Edwards, Julika Gittner, Ant Hamlyn, Nnena Kalu and Luke Routledge.
The shortlisted artists were selected from over 240 entries by a panel, comprising: Eva Rothschild RA; Lewis Gilbert, associate curator at New Art Centre, curator at Create London: Windrush Art Commissions and creative director at A Vibe Called Tech; Rebecca Scott, Artist, director at Cross Lane Projects and Mark Tanner Trust; and Dean Kenning, MTSA winner 2020/21.
