We are excited to announce that ActionSpace artist Thompson Hall, is co-facilitating an online Sync Leadership residency for learning-disabled artists in Canada.

About the Programme:

Sync Short Syncing Space offers a 6 week online residency, co-facilitated by ActionSpace artist Thompson Hall and Sarah Pickthall (Sync Thinking, UK). This is designed for Canadian artists come together in an inclusive, collaborative space to explore their creativity, build leadership skills, and gain confidence in their artistic journeys. Participants receive financial support, access to resources, and remuneration for their time and artistic contributions.

Throughout the residency, participants engage in art-making, curating, and discussions centred on leadership, connection, and metaphors. Thompson Hall, drawing from his previous experiences on Syncing Space’s Malaysia/UK digital residency in early 2025, will continue his role as a co-facilitator. He leads the group through reflective exercises, sharing personal insights, and fostering a space for growth.

To mark the end of the residency, participants showcase their work in an exhibition on 22 August 2025.

Thompson Hall has been sharing his reflections on his journey as a Co-Facilitator to the Syncing Space blog.

ActionSpace is grateful to partner with Sync Thinking and be part of the Syncing Space programme, as we continue our mission to support the personal and professional growth of learning disabled artists. This is a wonderful opportunity for artists to further their practice, enhance their careers, and make lasting connections.

Supported by Canada Council for the Arts, ActionSpace, and Sync Thinking.
