Andrew Omoding: Thread Count

ActionSpace artist Andrew Omoding presented new sculptures in Thread Count, a two part exhibition showcasing contemporary textile practice.

Andrew Omoding exhibited a new series of hybrid goat sculptures in the group exhibition Thread Count Part One. Co-curated by Professor Freddie Robins and The Art Station, the exhibition showcased contemporary textile practice. Exhibiting artists included Rosie Edwards, Woo Jin Joo, Sophie Giller, Feifan Hu, Daisy Collingridge, Andrew Omoding, Jevan Watkins Jones, Freddie Robins, Peter Collingwood, Rebecca Riess, Emily Cannell, Mikey Cuddihy, Julie Cockburn, Abigail Lane, Srinivas Surti, Annabel Elgar, John Craske, William Wallace.

Thread Count Part Two

6 July – 21 July 2024
The Old Theatre, Framlingham, IP13 9BH

Thread Count Part Two was co-curated by Professor Freddie Robins and The Art Station. In this extension of the exhibition, the show included a textile story by Andrew Omoding titled ‘London Farmer’, which recounts a tale of a farmer and his goats.

 

Listen, walk round goat and turn left. Performance for Sluice Vernacular Expo at The Minories, Colchester

Saturday 15th June 2024

Andrew Omoding performed a new performance for the Sluice Vernacular Expo in The Minories grounds.

Using a new series of hybrid goat-like sculptures, that are currently on show at Thread Count at The Art Station, Andrew constructed an improvised performance and story around the sculptures and the memories they evoke. The performance ran as part of a special day of ‘Thread Count’ performances and life drawing.
