A whole day of activities to enjoy!
- 12-4 pm – Robin Smith will be painting live throughout the afternoon
- Group exhibition of all ActionSpace’s Studio Voltaire artists in the main gallery
- 3-3.20 pm – ActionSpace Head of Artist Development, Charlotte Hollinshead, speaks about the work of ActionSpace, followed by a Q&A
- 3:30-3:45 pm – Immanuel Adelowo will talk about his own practice and developing the ‘Into the Bliss’ exhibition
- 4-4:45 pm – Linda Bell will be making live throughout the afternoon, then presenting an exhibition on work in the Studio Voltaire courtyard with an informal performance
Linda Bell is renowned for her large-scale, interactive sculptural works that invite exploration, touch, and movement. She has been a resident artist at ActionSpace’s South London hub at Studio Voltaire since 1999.
Linda’s sculptures are built from tactile materials, including foil, paper, and fabric, chosen for their ability to transform through reshaping and assembly. Movement is essential to Linda’s process, as the works evolve through interaction, whether by her own hands or those of the audience.
For this year’s Open House, Linda will install multiple interactive sculptures in Studio Voltaire’s courtyard garden and invite visitors to activate the sculptures alongside her during an informal performance. If you missed the chance to participate in Linda’s display at Tate Modern’s Uniqlo | Tate Play earlier this year, then come along!
