Artist Lasmin Salmon in collaboration with Celia Pym
ActionSpace artist Lasmin Salmon and Celia Pym have developed a process of shared knitting. Working side by side they gradually add individually pieces to a larger work. Both Lasmin and Celia enjoy creating vibrant, tactile, work that is exuberant and joyful.
During Festival of Love Lasmin and Celia invited the general public to come and knit with them on Saturday 27tth June, Saturday 4th July, and Saturday 18th July from 11am to 4pm. Borrowing wool from their mountain of yarn, passers-by helped them to add to their large-scale, collaborative textile sculpture.
Lasmin Salmon is predominantly a textile artist with a bold and distinctive style. She creates mixed media sewn sculptures with an unconventional but ordered feel.
