Ajanthan Jeevan

Ajanthan Jeevan has been based at ActionSpace Brent studio since 2023. He creates vibrant, abstract sculptures that explore texture, form, and the dynamic relationships between materials. His work is an intricate fusion of colour and texture, incorporating layers of textiles, string, pom poms, and other materials into multi-dimensional forms that evoke a sense of movement and depth.

Each piece is a tactile celebration of shape and materiality, where familiar materials are transformed into playful, bold structures. Ajanthan’s sculptures range from geometric to organic, inviting the viewer to experience their lively energy from all angles. The layers of fabric, threads, and soft, tactile elements intertwine and interact, creating a visual language that is both joyful and thought-provoking.

Drawing inspiration from everyday objects, cultural references, and the interplay of colour, Ajanthan’s work invites viewers to reconsider the potential of simple materials. The result is an expressive, almost sculptural collage that blurs the boundaries between traditional craft and contemporary art.
