Andrew Omoding: Workshop for Tate Modern 25th Anniversary

Last month, ActionSpace marked Tate’s 25th anniversary with a special participatory workshop led by artist Andrew Omoding. The event brought together Tate staff and young students with special educational needs (SEN) from Camberwell, South London.

Andrew guided participants through Tate Modern’s Performer and Participant display, offering a unique experience using his handmade cameras. Through these imaginative lenses, attendees explored the artworks while engaging with Andrew’s personal interpretations of the space and collection.

This workshop continued Andrew’s inclusive artistic engagement at Tate. Throughout the 2023–24 academic year, he led a series of relaxed workshops at both  Tate Britain and Tate Modern, specifically designed for school groups with additional needs.
