Open Doors is a visual art project aiming to facilitate dialogue between healthcare professionals and people with learning disabilities, particularly those with multiple learning disabilities and high support needs.
A group of ActionSpace studio artists visited Kentish Town Health Centre over a 3 month period, exploring the centre, and meeting staff and patients. They created artwork in response to the visits, describing their feelings of being in the building and what would helped to feel more comfortable when engaging with healthcare professionals. The work was exhibited in the Centre’s Free Space Project gallery from 16 August to 8 September 2017.
This is a partnership project between ActionSpace and Free Space Project, based at Kentish Town Health Centre in North London.
