ActionSpace presents “Brent Culture Switch” for Brent 2020
ActionSpace has been awarded funding by the London Borough of Culture
We are delighted to be awarded funding for 2020 Cultural Fund for “Brent Culture Switch” a 6-month project celebrating Brent’s year as London Borough of Culture 2020. ActionSpace will be inviting Brent residents with learning disabilities to celebrate what it means to live in the borough through a series of art workshops and a community festival at Barham Park in July 2020. Each workshop will be co-lead by a different ActionSpace artist who attends our regular Brent studio group.
Brent is one of London’s most inclusive and diverse boroughs. As London’s leading visual arts organisation for artists with learning disabilities, ActionSpace is switching the focus. We are inviting Brent residents with learning disabilities to answer the question “Where are we?” by exploring their experiences of living in Brent today in a series of art workshops over the first 6 months of the year of the London Borough of Culture and sharing their stories in a fully inclusive Barham Park Community Festival in July 2020.
Full information about the workshops and the festival will follow soon.
