Ophir Yaron co-delivering family workshops at Great Ormond Street Hospital
January – May 2026
In partnership with GOSH Arts, Autograph and ActionSpace
ActionSpace is now supporting family workshops at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), a new project bringing creative play and artistic exploration to children receiving treatment and their families.
Working in partnership with GOSH Arts and Autograph, the project will see ActionSpace artist Ophir Yaron co-devise and deliver a series of free, artist-led workshops alongside artist Amy Leung, taking place on hospital wards between January and May 2026.
About the project
Since 2019, Autograph has delivered its award-winning Family SEND Programme, offering creative workshops for children with complex needs and their families. This project marks the first time the programme has been adapted for a hospital setting.
Families staying at Great Ormond Street Hospital will be invited to take part in creative activities designed to be flexible, accessible and responsive to individual needs. Workshops will be inspired by child-led creative play, material exploration and sensory experiences, allowing children to engage in ways that reflect their own interests and abilities.
Hospital environments can be challenging, particularly for long-stay children and their families who often have limited access to the arts. These workshops aim to offer moments of joy, distraction and connection, supporting emotional wellbeing, easing anxiety and building creative confidence.
ActionSpace’s role
Ophir Yaron, a resident artist at ActionSpace’s supported studios, brings extensive experience as an artist, educator, dancer and performer. ActionSpace is providing access and pastoral support to Ophir throughout the project, ensuring she is fully supported to contribute her creative skills and expertise in this complex setting.
Supporting learning disabled artists to work at the heart of major cultural and public institutions is central to ActionSpace’s mission, and this partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to inclusion, access and professional development.
