Rachel Thomson, ActionSpace volunteer, gives her experience of a Watch This Space workshop:
I volunteered at the workshop inspired by the ActionSpace artist Lasmin Salmon, who uses coloured fabrics and wools in her work carefully and beautifully combining them together by knitting or sewing.  We all began by chucking balls of wool at each other across a house like wooden frame. Weaving a web that we later added to with coloured swathes of cloth, and some spontaneous circular sculptures made from tape and card, everyone contributed sometimes decorating pieces of cloth themselves and knotting them together, onto the house structure, improvising tug of wars or draping them over each other like costumes. It was a great morning and a lot of fun, with the result reflecting the energy, creativity and enthusiasm of the group.
