The Shape Open is an annual exhibition of work by disabled and non-disabled artists. Andrew Omading, Thomas Owen and Tony Allan were selected for Shape Open 2013.
2013’s theme was ‘Disability Re-assessed’ and was sponsored by Xcaliba. 2012 proved a momentous year, in which disabled people dominated sporting events, cultural celebrations and political debate. The focus on categorising, defining and re-assessing disability was, and continues to be, as prevalent as ever – influencing and impacting on the experience and representation of disabled people around the UK. In 2013, Shape asked artists to look back over the defining moments of last year and look forward to the changes ahead.
