ActionSpace artists who attend the Royal Academy bi-monthly partnership programme will be exhibiting work as part of Art is Part of the Equation. The exhibition showcases the work of artists involved in Royal Academy’s community partner programmes. We are delighted that the title was inspired by an artwork by Tony Allen. The artwork is also being used as the exhibition poster.
“We have developed this exhibition in collaboration with the exhibiting artists to celebrate a range of makers, their diverse creative practice and the relationships built between us and the community organisations we work with.
We work with a broad scope of community partners to deliver exhibition talks, tours and art making workshops. These activities are developed with and for people who may otherwise face considerable barriers to being involved in the arts. Some of these partnerships have lasted many years and evolved in the process and some are more recent collaborations.”
The community partners represented are: Action Space, Age Concern City of London, Arlington House, Crisis, Leonard Cheshire Disability, Marylebone Project, Portugal Prints, St Christopher’s Hospice, St Mungos Broadway, Studio 5, The Connection, The Passage and Whitechapel Women’s Groups.”
