Workshop series with Nnena Kalu

On 13 July, Nnena Kalu shared her artistic practice with students at JFK school in Newham, during their art week.

She lead by example, working alongside the pupils to create large-scale temporary structures that can be engaged and played with.

Nnena binds and layers materials together creating raw and intense artworks. Nnena’s sculptural work is constantly evolving: individual pieces are never really finished but continue to change, to grow, to merge, to come apart again.
